Our two luxury cottages are situated on the edge of Maiden Newton, a rural village in the heart of West Dorset’s “Hardy country” and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are only five minutes walk to the village centre and it's excellent facilities including a pub, well stocked village store, newsagent, fish and chip shop and French restaurant. Dorchester and Bridport are around a fifteen minute drive and have supermarkets, shops, pubs, restaurants, and great street markets.
Location
Maiden Newton is an ideal base to explore the area, with excellent transport links including buses and a railway station. This is a place where you can truly feel “far from the madding crowd” but be within easy reach of all West Dorset has to offer.
There are miles of wonderful country walks on our doorstep, from a half an hour stroll around the village to the Wessex Ridgeway long distance footpath there is something for everyone. Open fields, woodland trails and stunning coastal paths are within easy reach whether on foot, horseback or bicycle. The stunning Jurassic coast with it's amazing beaches and impressive geology is within a short drive.
Why not leave the car for a day and take a train into Dorchester, Weymouth or Bath. Maiden Newton station is only a five minute walk and the line passes through some of Englands most picturesque countryside.
We are easy to find along the lane between Maiden Newton and Cattistock, look out for us on the right just before leaving the village. We are only two miles from the A37 which links Dorchester and Yeovil.
